Verifying a farmer against the Agristack registry

Agri-lending, input subsidies and crop insurance all need to confirm the applicant is a registered farmer with land on record. Here is the check.

What the registry holds

The farmer registry ties an identity (via Aadhaar) to land parcels, crops declared, and the state. A verification returns whether the person is registered and the linked land details, which underpins loan eligibility and subsidy limits.

Why lenders use it

For a Kisan Credit Card or an input loan, the land on record sets the borrowing limit. Pulling it from the registry rather than a paper record cuts both fraud (inflated holdings) and processing time.

Handling gaps

Registration coverage is still growing. A "not found" is common and is not a decline signal on its own. Fall back to land records and manual verification, and prompt the farmer to complete registration.
