A name that does not match is not always fraud. How you handle the mismatch decides whether you lose a good customer or catch a bad one.

Do not hard-fail on the first mismatch
A single mismatch between a typed name and a source name is usually a formatting difference. Route it to a light review or ask the user to confirm the spelling, rather than declining.
Show the user what you see
A message like "your PAN is registered as R KUMAR, please enter your name as it appears on your PAN" turns a dead end into a fix. Most users can correct it in one edit.
Escalate the pattern, not the instance
One mismatch is noise. The same applicant failing name joins across PAN, bank and a second ID is a signal. Score across sources before you decline.
